Kirby Wilhelm

Policy Planner

Mr. Wilhelm is a Policy Planner for KFH Group and is currently assigned to the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA).  In this position he is the day-to-day contact at MTA for the Central Maryland Region's five Locally Operated Transit Systems (LOTS), in addition to other transportation and government entities.  This work includes grant tracking and auditing, compliance with federal and state regulations with grant administration, project management, and working with various departments at the MTA and LOTS regarding funding, regulatory compliance, and other issues. Other job functions include preparing reports and project presentations as required, as well as being the LOT’s main point of contact at MTA.  He also provides support as the program manager of MTA’s Rideshare - CMAQ and MD-JARC programs.

Prior to working for KFH, he worked as a program associate for the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) focused on mobility management and inclusive transit planning, managed a small repair program for older and disabled homeowners in upstate New York, and worked the sandwich line at a 24-hr bagel shop in Brooklyn. Kirby enjoys spending time with his tabby cat Jackie, exploring new cities and transit systems, playing sports (especially rugby, basketball, and table tennis), and going on long bike rides around Baltimore.
